1. Introduction

Welcome to loqd's Content Guidelines. These guidelines outline the types of content that are permitted and prohibited on our platform. loqd is designed as a safe, private space for couples to strengthen their relationships. While we respect your privacy and do not actively monitor private communications, we have established these guidelines to ensure a positive experience for all users.

By using loqd, you agree to follow these Content Guidelines, which are an extension of our Terms of Service. Violations of these guidelines may result in content removal, account suspension, or termination.

2. Guiding Principles

Our Content Guidelines are built on the following principles:

Safety

Content should never promote harm to yourself, your partner, or others. We take threats of violence and harmful behavior very seriously.

Respect

Even in private communications, we encourage respectful interactions between partners. Content should not be derogatory, abusive, or designed to harm another person's well-being.

Legality

Content must comply with all applicable laws and regulations. Any content that violates local, state, national, or international law is prohibited.

Privacy

Respect the privacy of yourself, your partner, and third parties. Do not share sensitive information about others without their consent.

Authenticity

Be genuine in your interactions. Content should authentically represent your thoughts, feelings, and experiences.

3. Types of Content

loqd supports various types of content to help couples connect and communicate:

3.1 Text Messages

Text messages should be used for meaningful communication between partners. While we understand that language can be informal and intimate between couples, we encourage respectful dialogue.

Examples:

Do: Share your feelings, discuss your day, plan activities, express affection, and engage in playful banter.
Don't: Send persistent unwanted messages if your partner has asked for space, or use threatening or abusive language.

3.2 Images and Media

Images, videos, and other media can be shared privately between consenting adult partners. However, all media content must be:

  • Shared with the explicit consent of all individuals depicted
  • Not depicting minors in any inappropriate context
  • Not depicting illegal activities
  • Not depicting violence or abuse

Examples:

Do: Share personal photos, memories, and moments with your partner that strengthen your connection.
Don't: Share intimate images of your partner without their consent, or share any images depicting illegal activities.

3.3 Tasks and Notes

Tasks and notes should be used to support your relationship's practical needs and goals:

Examples:

Do: Create to-do lists, set reminders for important dates, share shopping lists, and create relationship goals.
Don't: Create tasks that are degrading, offensive, or that involve illegal activities.

3.4 Memories

The memory timeline feature is for documenting and celebrating your relationship's special moments:

Examples:

Do: Record anniversaries, special dates, milestones, and meaningful moments in your relationship.
Don't: Post content that intentionally misrepresents your relationship or that would be embarrassing or harmful to your partner.

4. Prohibited Content

The following types of content are strictly prohibited on loqd:

4.1 Harmful Content

  • Content that threatens, harasses, bullies, or intimidates others
  • Content that promotes or glorifies self-harm or suicide
  • Content that promotes violence, abuse, or criminal activities
  • Content that describes or depicts acts of physical harm or torture

4.2 Illegal Content

  • Content that violates any applicable law or regulation
  • Content that infringes upon the copyright, trademark, or intellectual property rights of others
  • Content that promotes illegal activities or provides instructions for committing crimes
  • Content involving minors in any inappropriate or illegal context

4.3 Exploitative Content

  • Content shared without the consent of all involved parties
  • Content that exploits or degrades individuals based on race, ethnicity, gender, religion, disability, or sexual orientation
  • Content involving non-consensual sharing of intimate images ("revenge porn")

4.4 Deceptive Content

  • Content that impersonates another person or entity
  • Content that contains false or misleading information designed to manipulate or harm others
  • Content used to scam, defraud, or mislead others

4.5 Misuse of Platform

  • Content that attempts to manipulate or disrupt loqd's features or functionality
  • Content used to spam, phish, or distribute malware
  • Content that attempts to collect private information from others without consent
  • Content that promotes competing services in a way that violates our Terms of Service

6. Reporting Violations

While loqd respects your privacy and does not monitor private communications, we provide mechanisms for reporting violations of these guidelines:

6.1 How to Report Content

If you encounter content that violates these guidelines, you can report it by:

  • Using the in-app reporting function
  • Contacting our support team at support@loqd.app
  • Providing details about the violation, including when and where it occurred

6.2 Confidentiality

All reports are handled confidentially. We understand the sensitive nature of relationship communications and will handle all reports with appropriate care and discretion.

6.3 Support Resources

If you are experiencing abuse or harmful behavior in your relationship, please be aware that loqd is not an emergency service. We encourage you to seek appropriate support:

7. Enforcement

We may take various actions to enforce these Content Guidelines:

When a violation is reported, our team will review the report and may investigate the alleged violation. We respect privacy and will limit our review to what is necessary to determine if a violation has occurred.

7.2 Actions We May Take

Depending on the severity and frequency of violations, we may:

  • Issue a warning
  • Remove the violating content
  • Temporarily suspend account access
  • Permanently terminate accounts
  • Report illegal activities to appropriate authorities

7.3 Appeals

If you believe an enforcement action was taken in error, you may appeal the decision by contacting our support team with relevant information explaining why you believe the action was unwarranted.

8. Changes to Guidelines

We may update these Content Guidelines from time to time to reflect changes in our services, legal requirements, or community standards. When we make significant changes, we will notify users through the app or via email. Continued use of loqd after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated guidelines.
